1/29 Gammy is home!

Gammy came home after a 3-week trip to Florida. The boys were so happy to see her in person and not on iChat. She has lovely raccoon eyes from playing lots of tennis in sunglasses.

Gammy came over because I caught some sort of 24-hour stomach bug. I am blaming a red bell pepper. It was ugly. She brought me some Gatorade and my little buddy Luke refused to take his nap just so he could take care of me. What a nice little guy.

1/28 new pillows

Trying out daddy's potential new pillow in target.

We had a big day on Sunday when we tried to put Luke down for a nap and he kept flinging himself out of his crib -- something he had never done before. So we pulled our guest bed into his room. Last night was the first time he slept in his new bed! (He gave up at 11:30 on Sunday night and asked to go in his crib.) Here is the big boy in his new bed!

He is taking a picture of me with HIS phone.

I love it! Any suggestions for drapes?

1/25 nap time

Luke sleeps with lots of things in his bed, but the fact that he is wearing his baseball glove while asleep (and he didn't have it on when I put him in there) just melts my heart. And I am glad I didn't wake him with the flash!

1/24 burrito baby

I figure if Nathan has many years of taking self-portraits in bathroom mirrors ahead of him, we may as well start now.

He is loving the bath these days. The boys have been taking baths together, which is so much fun to watch. They like to splash each other and sometimes Luke "helps" by pouring water all over Nathan's head.

We had a funny moment in the bath a couple of weeks ago. Nathan has a horrible rat tail that I haven't yet been able to bring myself to cut. When he got his hair wet, his rat tail got REALLY LONG (usually you can't tell it, it just curls up in the rest of his hair). Luke looked and said, "LONG HAIR."

1/23 part 2

We started painting our dining room. We chose a blue color called "inked." The whole room was red, so it is going to need a few coats. We got to this point and I said to Hal, "Let's leave it this way. For 'Merica."

He replied that it looks more like France to him. He's no fun.

1/23 the market

We took my Aunt Kim to Findlay Market for Lunch. She had never been there. It was frigid outside but we got some tasty food (and waffles and crepes!) and some great company.

We brought Nathan in in the stroller because there aren't high chairs and it's nice to have a place for him to sit and eat. However, when we were finished with lunch and I was holding Nathan, Luke decided that he was going to sit in the stroller. So he climbed up there, himself. This was the result.

1/20 beautiful Kentucky and caught!

This bridge is so pretty to me! We went underneath it many times when we lived in our old house here five years ago. I am always happy when I get to see it.

Once home, we started putting up some paint samples in our dining room. Luke told is he was painting the chair. We thought he was pretending. Now we have a blue and black folding chair.

1/19 Rabbit Food

I am trying to be healthier this year. So I decree we should go to ruby Tuesday's for the salad and veggies (for me).

Our other favorite media right now is the field goal kicking game!

1/16 rowengartner!

We introduced Luke last night to Rookie of the Year, the delightful baseball movie of my youth. Thomas Ian Nicholas pre-American Pie.

Luke loves baseball. He got this movie and The Sandlot in his stocking from Santa this year. It is a good excuse for ME to revisit some old favorites.

I imagine we will have little league in our future. He sleeps with a baseball glove and likes to toss. I wish it wasn't so boring!!!

1/15

With Hal in migraine recovery, we made bean soup and invited Me-Ma and Pe-Pa over. They brought a cheesecake. Look how much Nathan ate of his piece! The kid won't take a bottle but he'll chow down on cheesecake.

Perhaps Luke is a bit of a ham? What a silly face!

8 Months Old! (photos taken 1/11)

Photobucket

Nathan is 8 months old! (Well, he was 8 months old on the 27th, which was all the way last year, so he's more like 8.5 months old.)

At 8 months, Nathan:

~Cruises
~Loves to be down MOVING
~Plays "SO BIG" and likes it when we clap for him
~Eats a variety of things. Nathan refuses baby food and will only rarely eat off a spoon someone else is holding.
~Jabbers (NA NA NA, BA BA BA, DA DA DA, etc.)
~Likes to steal Luke's toys
~Puts everything in his mouth
~Loves getting raspberries on his belly
~Has very blue eyes

1/8 First Day of School!

Today Nathan went to school for the first time! He is attending a mother's day out program where Luke goes to school -- Nathan will be there on Tuesdays from 9:30-1:30. In my time today, I worked on an article that I'm supposed to revise and resubmit for a publication.

But before school, we had to take some first day of school pictures!

Photobucket

Do you like how Nathan is wearing a shirt that advertises that he's a
super fun guy to get to know? ;) Luke's first day of school shirt said
"I'm a blast!" on it.

Luke had to get in on the action, too.

1/4 -- Findlay market

We picked up Hal from work and went to Findlay Market, an indoor/outdoor market in Over the Rhine in Cincinnati. It's been a new thing to do here that we never did when we lived there before.

Burritos were had.

And dessert waffles.
